Some Noel History...

The first Noel is know as "The First Noel.", "The First Nowell."or just "Noel."
"The First Noel" (as I like to call it and is most known as.) was published in 1833.
Some sources trace the word 'Noel' to a latin word meaning: Birthday.
But also known from the French word "Noël" meaning; Christmas.

Most music historians believe the song originated in England, though it has been attributed to both England and France.

           1.                   The First Noel, the Angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields as they lay, keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was, so deep.
                        Noel,   Noel,   Noel,   Noel
Born is the King of Isreal

               6.               Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord
That He hath made Heaven and earth nought
And with His blood mankind has bought.
                        Noel,  Noel,  Noel,  Noel,
Born is the King of Isreal

What beautiful words! (even though its just the last and first verse.)
                Anyone else agree?!
