I'm in that mood...

This weekend I've been in the crafty/sewing mood,and I only like doing things that don't take any longer then a day.  
                          

         

So after some thought I figured I'ld make my new camera a pretty strap cover,because I was planning on doing it soon anyway.

After picking out some fabric from my fabric bin,I got started,the results actually made me happy!
 I'm rarely happy with the way things end up turning out 'when I sew them',but I actually REALLY like it.

The colors match my blog designs color scheme too. =)

Oh,and I know I need to trim off the thread....

lol,and I seem to forget to trim off the thread when I finish a project,until after Itake photos. ; )

Next was repurposing a shirt that had some.... I think...... they were blech stains on it.....huh...anywho,I saw THIS tutorial a few weeks ago and thought 'I could use that pink shirt upstairs for this',but I kinda liked this shirt and I always put on a cute sweater with it,but today I decied I was going to do it.

So I pinned where I was going to cut.

                                                                           Cut it.

Cut 3 strips using the leftover (the bottom half of the shirt.)

Ruffled them up.

sewed them on...

Added 3 yo-yo flowers....and I was finished.

It came out very cute and suits me perfectly!

I'm planning on wearing it to my violin recital thats coming up in a few weeks....

I'll have to do a whole outfit post. ;)

 Ihate throwing away scraps so Iquickly wrapped the extra around my head as a headband,but I definitely like the shrug better.

My hopefully next project is when stores start having flip-flops on sale,

I want to do either THIS or THIS with them.

 I might be doing an engagement photo session next sunday,I'm very excited!

It would be for my brother,but still exciting for me.

Yeah,today was one of those days,usually Friday's are pretty good days,but today it was....well....a bust....

 Lets see I bought some fabric a few days ago and thought I'ld attempt to make a dress,well,I have the tendency to cut things out bigger for some reason I think its going to be to small cut it out bigger....well,after much editing I finished it and it was hideous ,it didn't fit right at all,I didn't even show anybody the results.
 The fabric was on the cheaper side that's why I bought it,so not something I actually love or something I would wear unless it was a dress,but I don't HATE it,so I'll end up making flowers out of the 4 yards of fabric. (yeah, I bought 4 yards.not really equaling up to that since its in pieces)

My mom made these gf cookies,but they have rice and dairy in them (which I'm allergic to) and I ate like 4,yeah,my bad. I wasn't going to,but it happened. But that wasn't entirely,bad, cause they were very yummy. I just know I'll be paying for it later,as well,as the pizza I'm going to eat regardless of the dairy and rice.I'm not eating anything else for dinner. *insert determined face here*

So I'm sitting here at the computer bored and fretting about a violin orchestra audition (when I was practicing earlier it didn't sound very good,so I gave it a rest for today) that I have on monday.

Did I miss anything,oh,yeah,I still have math to do tonight..... :(

 I'll probably skip it and see if I'll be allowed to watch a movie tonight instead.

Even though I'm like months behind in my math.

Huh,well,....I'm starting to feel a little better.....

So,any ideas on what I can make with the fabric I have,I thought I'ld make a skirt,but I'ld never wear it so thats a waste. So any ideas?

Oh,and if anybody has any encouraging verses that want to take the time to put below in a comment,that would be nice and anyone feeling down in the dumps can read the comments for encouragement too.

And I realize that today wasn't that bad really,compared to what some of you have on 'one of those days',or even what a bad day is,I'm just frustrated about the dress,I told myself I wasn't going to make another dress for myself I did and it was a disaster....

Wow,you know,if any one else has a bad day try posting about it actually makes you feel better. Weather anyone read this or not,it was nice to type out my frustrations.

christmas bun tutorial and my finished sewing projects...

Okay,so I thought I'ld give you all a little Christmas bun tutorial,which by the way is perfect for curly hair. =)

I'm actually considering wearing this to a dear friends wedding on friday (I'm beyond excited about it by the way.) versus half up.....hmmm...Okay,back to my tutorial.

This hairstyle isn't exactly easy,but it isn't hard,so on the scale of 1-10 it would be 5 on level of difficulty,mainly cause I had a hard time showing through photos how to do,but anyway with no further ado,

"The Christmas Bun"

You'll need:

5 or 6 small little claws and a few bobbing pins.

Hairspray (optional,not recommended for naturally curly or dry hair though)

step 1. Take the front section of  your hair and pin it back,and if your hair isn't naturally curly,Curl It with either a 1/2-1 inch curling iron!!!

step 2:  Take the hair on your right and left side and bring them to meet as you do a half ponytail in the back.

step 3.  take you half pony tail (you can scure it with a clear small elastic band if you like) start to twist as if you'll be twisting average bun ,but then stop and push your curls foreward.

Take 2 of your mini claws and secure you curls in the front.

note: You don't want your hair pulled straight foreward just in front of where you joined your hair together in the back at.

step 4. Take the hair in the back and middle and bring it up to where your 'half ponytail' was and repeat what you did in step 3. =)

step 5. Use a few bobbing pins to secure any loose sagging spots or stray hairs. :)

Take some hairspray for extra security. But if your hair is naturally curly is dry don't use any hairspray it will dry out you hair even more so.

step 6. Add a cute accessory if you like to spruce it up. This darling hairstyle for Christmas.

So this seamstres was very happy to be finally finished with this dress for it was....

uhem....quite challenging,but with some help of an expert (aka my sister) I soon had sewen the last stich.

So I went outside on a wet,slightly windy,but warm day with my finished dress and my only pair of heels dawned on to take some photos.

It has been very wet here, can you tell?! I can't wait for some bright white snow.Oh,and yes in the photo above I'm in barefeet,it was warm enough to stay in barefeet for a few photos,tomorrow its supposed to plumet back to 30...brrrr.....and more rain. :(

But its supposed to snow on Christmas eve! :)

             lol,I thought it was funny the way wind made my dress look like I was wearing a small bustle in the photo above. ;)

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. A Big Thank you to my sister who did some changes to make if fit my body type better.

Another little sewing project that I made with the measurements that are posted @ apple.com to make my friend a ipad case. =)

It didn't turn out how I would of liked,but my dear friend loved it and that is all that really matters.

I used my parents embroidery machine to embroidery an 'M' on the flap,also for a classy look,I ruffled up some silky black fabric and sewed it on under it.

                                                 I also added a front pocket.
 My favorite part of this case,is the fun and funky fabric that is inside,its white and has neon pink and green animals that are kind of like those stiff cut out cookies....lol,I'm not painting a good image am  I?!
 But I didn't take a photo of the inside before I gave it to her as a Christmas gift. :( so sorry about that,but I had some leftover that I'll have to take a photo of for you all cause it really is cute and fun!

Frilly Lily

 I've been wanting to figure out a flower I've been seeing girls wear...(okay,I've seen only like 2-3 girls,but I was hooked) But they have caught my attention.

I recently bought some fabric from Joann's and this fabric I knew would be perfect for my test flower.

I'm in love with it...even if others don't really like it, I ♥ it emmensly!

My Finished Purse!

I finished my purse. What do you think? My mom liked it! I'm really happy with the way it turned out!

I put a meduim size pocket in it and I put a pocket that I sewed,so it has 3 pencil/pen holders. A phone or MP3 player  pocket and a pocket you could put a pad in or an ipod!

Sewing Project!

Besides school that I'll be starting hopefully this week(Yes, I'm weird by getting excited about starting school), I'm going to be doing a sewing project!!  A purse to be more specific! What do you think of my fabric choices?? (the light blue fabric is for the inside.)
