a thought to gnaw on...

I heard this story a the other day that that made me stop and think that I thought I'd share.

          "On a normal day at the Japanese POW camp the American prisoners were working with shovels,but it turned into a not so normal day there after a Japanese guard went around and counted the shovels then made all the prisoners line up,then with his gun pointing at them yelled angrly in his broken English, "A shovel is missing and one of you took it,the soldier who took it step fore ward." The men stood in their straight line. Again the Japenese guard yelled in his broken English, "If the man doesn't step fore ward,I will shot the each of the men in line one by one." after a small pause full of tension the guard raised his gun to shoot,but before he did a young man stepped forward and spoke these simple words, "I did."
The guard clearly angry  took the man and beat him to death. At the end of the day the rest of the men put away the shovels took the dead man away. It was only then at the end of the day that the guard recounted the shovels and realize it was a mistake all the shovels were all there."

Now I don't remember the story exactly,but thats the story reworded in my own words.

                                               Isn't that story impactful.
          I wonder what went through thats guards mind?! Or his fellow prisoners minds?!
                   What an amazing, yet sad example of showing Christ's love.

your book diy

    I know A LOT of bloggers also love to write stories I usually plan it all out in my head and by the end of the first chapter I usually stop and never finish,but I thought up one and I'm GOING to finish it no matter how long it takes. So heres a sort of DIY on how to make a ordinary notebook into your book.

                         
                                               Things you'll need:
                                                      a notebook
                                                           glue
                                     colored paper/scrapbooking paper
                                   a special pen/markers/or colored pens
                                    Whatever else that catches your fancy
                                              

        Step 1 : Get a notebook you can get them pretty cheap and even cheaper on the back to school sales.

Step 2 : Plan your design,find your color scheme you want to go for,get the paper and other accessories that will flow with it.

Step 3: Cut out your paper and lay it out how you'll want it and look at it a while.....try to find places that look to empty or to cluttered,think of creative things you can change or do to enhance your design. for instance instead of cutting a nice straight line how about ripping the papers edges to give it a nice touch.

Step 5: Decide on look, write your title, etc.... then glue on your design.

Now you can write in it and begin your story.

 You can even change the direction and make it a journal instead. =)

                                  I had a recital yesterday; I went well despite my jitters.
                    I haven't done a recital in my 8 years,so it was kinda nice to do it again.
                                  It was nice to hear songs from other sutdents as well.

lol,I don't look very good while playing do I??

And to other who play the violin that are reading this I know my one hand is bent it has the tendency to do that'I need to work on it. :)

My teacher and I did a Irish jig as a duet called Irish washer woman.

Its fun to play and dance to.

        This was last sunday at Orchestra which went well,but I must admit,I'm glad to be no longer doing it.
          
                                 
                                What do you all think of bloggers new set up?
                                                       I do not like it at all!
              When they were first offering it I changed it and after two days I decided I didn't like it.
             So after a week I found out how to revert back to the old template,which relieved me.            
                            Until they changed it in the middle of April spoiling my day.
                                        Today I took the time and reverted back again.
        (In the new template in the right corner above your blogs it has 'English' a down arrow and a tiny box connected that has nothing on it [if you move the mouse over it says blogger options]click on it a drop down menu should appear and click on something that say 'old blogger interferance' and it changes it right back.)


                                    Well,thats all for now stay tuned for a craft tutorial.

Why Hungry for the Hunger games?

                        
                             How many of you read Hunger Games or seen the movie yet?!

      I finished the Hunger Games book Sat. night,and made the decision not to watch the movie.
While I was reading Hunger Games I was thinking the whole time if this book will turn out okay and I can watch it....I literally felt the devil and God wrestling over my hearts decision throught this whole book,but in the end God gave a peace about my decision.
 (Warning: This post are the kuhzillion thoughts that are buzzing around in my head.)

 It is not that I don't want to watch the movie (trust me its going to take alot of work for me not to want to watch it) its...well.....let me explain while I was reading the book I kept noting things in it that is totally wrong. I must give credit to the author though by adding the part where Katniss sacrifices herself for her little sister was probably a most appealing part for chirstians and draws us in to the theater to watch with a 'good reason' to see it.
 Is this the kind of movie we should support though with our money and by paying to see the movie were saying, 'keep these movies coming.' I can't help,but look at movies and see how Hollywood is desensitzing children and adults to sin and death. The more movies that you watch with imorality, sin and death the more were immuned to it making us fall deeper into sin and think less of it.

Even though the Hunger Games book ended in kind of a suspense moment,like "whats going to happen" I more then likely will NOT read the next book. Though I know you shouldn't rely on what others say,but I've heard that the next few books are very dark,even more violence and its just really dark. Which makes be appalled that public school students are made to read this series in 4th grade if I had a child in 7th grade I wouldn't want him to even read the first book. 9th grade maybe depending on his or hers maturity. The Hunger Games mentioned nudity quite a few times and mentions a guy (Cinna, Katniss's stylist.) looking over Katniss when she has no clothes that TOTALLY appalled me.
And knowing that guys minds are visual I think if they read that part of the book would make them visualize that and I don't know about you ,but I wouldn't want my brother,son or husband to read that.

My sinful flesh REALLY wants to watch the movie,but I know in my heart that it would be wrong for me to watch it cause I know that my sinful flesh will love it,but my heart will know God will not.
           
           What I thought of is I CANNOT see Jesus sitting in the theater watching the Hunger Games and coming out and saying, "That was a pretty good movie despite the violence and the sad parts."  I think Jesus would be looking around the theater, looking at the audiences faces and thinking why would anybody pay and be happy to see a movie, where kids kill kids,where a girl pretends to be romantice with a guy at age 16, why would anyone smile at all in this movie and how can they come out saying," I like that movie." Why when it comes out on dvd would people buy it and watch it more then once.
          When I see Jesus in the theater watching Hunger games I see Him with tears streaming down his face watching the audience and crying out to God for this very messed up world.

Another random thing I thought of was this movie was kind of feministic, Katniss saves Peetas life, she risks her life to save him later on...etc....why is the girl the tough one out of the two?! But I know Peeta kind of does the same in the beginning,but Katniss I think was a little bit more risky in endevors.

hectic friday....

                Friday was actually kind  of stressful to me....it shouldn't of been,but I was a nervous wreck.
                   The day began with a last minute tea party I threw together for my sister and her friends.
                      I was hoping it would keep my mind off of a speech I was making later that evening.

Dear Jello Balls you are amazing and very tasty!

So Friday night was very nerve wracking....I think I already said that........

 I started freaking out Thursday night.

When my name was called I got up, nervous, thought I had the first part of my speech memorized,but nope the nerves knocked it right out of me,I stumbled over my words or at least it felt like it,but every said 'wow,you did an awesome job!' So I guess I'll relent and believe I did well,cause it makes me feel better. ;)

a hairstyle for Easter....

Easter is only 2 days away...wow...time may not fly,but it sure does fast foreward. 0_0

Anyway the main point of this post.

I was in my bathroom messing around with my hair and I thought I'ld test an idea I had, it turned out, so cute I decided I'ld wear it on Sunday!

Although there are a few small things like covering up the rubber band at the tops of my head that I'm going to make sure to remember to do when I do it again,but this is definitely a new favorite formal updo for me.

just slow down....

Ah,life even though sometimes a busy life can be fun,I just want it to sloooooow down.

Between Orchestra,violin lessons,my younger siblings play practice,along with speech and debate life has definitely has gotton hectic around here.

 Though thankfully next wed. is the last day for speech and debate and Friday is our speech night where we'll be making our speech's. Sat. I have a concert,and then I'll be quitting..........orchestra is not for me people,it takes the word 'fun' out of violin....at least for me that is.

The last weekend of April and first weekend of May is the play that my siblings are in; I'm doing hair,makeup and possibly helping with ticket stuff,so I CAN'T wait for that!!!


Hopefully the month of May will be 'slow' or normal....

Right now I'm pretty happy cause I found a new free photo editing tool that picnik was, so kind to recommend since they were closing,its called picmonkey.com it has I think all of the same picnik features on the site some of them were even the premium features that are free there.

I used the 'sunshine' effect and it looks quite nice on this photo...

So if you've been wondering where I've been or in the next few weeks wonder where I've been now you know....life caught up with me! =)
