I am David...

                                                         - A Movie Review-

          I haven't done a movie review in while and I like this movie,so why not do a review. =)

Adapted from the book, I Am David by Anne Holm....

Rated: PG for thematic elements and violence.

  
 David, a 12-year-old, escapes from a Communist concentration camp with little more than a compass, a sealed letter, a loaf of bread, and instructions to carry the letter to Copenhagen, Denmark. David is thrust into the free world for the first time in his young life as he travels across Europe. His spiritual voyage of discovery, where David slowly loses his instinctive mistrust of humanity and begins to smile, share, trust and ultimately, love, addresses the cruelties, politics, and suffering of warfare while celebrating the resilience of youth and the unbreakable spirit of a child.                                                            David is played by Ben Tibber.
 He did a really good job portraying David. I've never seen this actor in any other movie,but he did a good job.
                   


               Plot- It was a very good plot,and not totally perdictable,might seem boring in some places,but definitely captivating and keeps your interest. I'ld give the the plot 5 out of 5 stars.

          Modesty- Woman aren't really shown,but the ones that are I don't remember anything inmodest.But one scene David shown bathing,but his waist up and legs are all that are shown. Just so you know.

           Age rating- This movie is rated PG which I think is a good rating I would say if your kids are 10 and up it would be okay,but if their younger I'ld suggest watching it first. There are I think only 2 scenes that could of been gorey,but weren't at all,.But they made them kinda scary on the way they shot the movie,so beware of that. 

NOTE: If your a sensitive person,this movie will probably make you cry or like me tug at your heart. As you've seen in the trailer above.

Broken Hill movie review and another blog award........

                   I kinda  DO love the Australia accents and this movie made me love them more. =)

But anyway this was a pretty neat movie; I don't know how many of you have heard of a movie called "August Rush." Broken Hill is kind of like that,but cleaner,so your younger siblings can enjoy it too.

                     (I'm still trying to figure out the point of the horse on the cover there isn't even a horse in the movie..)

I'ld give this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars.....

The Plot is good,not completely obvious on what's going to happen.

Language: It was rated PG for some language and thematic elements...I don't remember any swearing,but I do remember a few words that replace swear words.


Modesty this movie wasn't perfectly modest,tight jeans,short dresses,but not to bad. The guy in it has the courtesy to work in a tank top instead of no shirt..... I love it when in movies the guys do that.

Note:There is one scene in it when an older person is talking to Tommy about new age,but only for one scene and it is never mentioned again.

       Over all I loved this movie,oh and did I mention the guy in this movie rides a trail bike?!
                                                      I love his trail bike!
            Trail bikes,dirtbikes,4-wheelers,etc.... are all Awesome with a capital 'a' in my book.

Oh,and this movie is on play at netflix for those of you who have it...if you don't you could always get a free month trial like we did,just make sure you end your account at the end of that month or they'll start to charge you. I'm sure you could get it at the library too. =)

Cutback movie review

 I've been wanting to see "Soul Surfer" and since isn't out on DVD yet,I went for a surfing movie I saw in the christian book store catolag.

I actually couldn't wait to see it and it was better then I had hoped. :)

High School senior Luke Harris (Justin Schwan) dreams of just one thing… pro surfing. With his best friend Casey (Angel Cruz) at his side, they have two goals: surf and party! But Luke’s Mom (Raquel Gardner) and especially Dad (Greg Carlson) have other ideas: pick a college and grow up! When Luke learns that a spot is opening up on the local surf team, he see’s his big chance to prove to his parents that he can make it as a surfer and avoid being shipped off to school.

Only two things stand in Luke’s way: new-surfer-in-town Matt (Andy Shephard) who has his own eyes set on the surf team opening, and his Dad, who insists he give up his surfing dreams and get an education. When a devastating tragedy strikes, Luke is forced to take a hard look at his life and with the help of beautiful “church-girl” Emily (Kelsey Sanders) and his Youth Pastor (Danny Smith), he learns that there’s much more to life than riding waves.

       Language: No swear words,though they say 'dude' and 'man',so it gets kind of annoying,but its pretty clean.

     Adult scenes: None,one scene where a teen it kind of drunk,but they show that it's wrong.

    Suggestive language: There is boy and girl stuff,but  ALOT better then most movies.

           Modesty: It's a christian movie,and I don't remember any immodest dress. The usual dress is jeans and t-shirts.

       Age rating: I thinks its rated PG,so about 12+

Oh,and if you are the emotional type you'll need some tissues cause there is a sad thing that happens.

                                               This was an awesome 'christian' movie.

I forgot to mention in my last post!

Oh, I forgot to mention something in the movie reveiw! The grandfather in,"Letters to God." is also a actor in a movie season called, "The Waltons."   Tell me if you reconize him!!

Movie Reveiw

I recently watched this amazing movie. It's inspired by a true story and a great family movie!
And this awesome movie is.........................

It's from one of the producers of Fireproof and Facing the Giants.It came out in the spring of 2010!  I would definitely give this 5 out of 5 stars very easily! This movie is about a little boy who has brain cancer and writes letters to God! The mailman has some problems(which are kid safe its only drinking and they show it much) he reads the letters which affect him and a lot of people!! Seriously go watch it and comment telling me what you thought!

Oh,one more thing.  I noticed in this movie (in which I am very happy with)  There is No swearing not even words replacing swear words!
