Life is a beautiful adventure
I mentioned a post ago that I was competing in a scholarship contest for beauty school.
I actually entered it last year,but they rescheduled to March 24th. Last year I really wanted to be a cometoligist. I wanted to make girls feel beautiful and to let them see themselves as they really are,but over the past few months I was kinda feeling that wasn't something I wanted to do. I've always wanted to do something ministry based. The lady in charge of this whole scholarship contest emailed me asking me if I was still interested cause they said they still had my essay if I wanted to enter it in, so I was like, 'you know what lets see if my essay is good enough that I get chosen'.........well it was chosen. So with my loyal friend Mik being my willing model and my awesome mom driving me over an hour away to this place and finding things to keep her busy all day while all the contestants were preparing their models...They both (my mom and model)deserve a pat on the back it was a VERY long day! From morning until about 8:30. I didn't get home until 10:30
Oh,and in case you were wondering I didn't win,but I was just so HAPPY cause her hairstyle was the best of my best and all I wanted to do was my best,so it didn't matter to me one bit that I didn't win. =)
My theme was "Life is a beautiful adventure." something adventurous,but feminine.

I did touch up some flyaways and added an extra butterfly.
A tinier one above the other two.
I actually had over a dozen butterflies,but I decided last minute that it looked better this way.
Ready to go....we were waiting forever before we were allowed to go to this party center to be judged etc...
In the ballroom where the event was held they had to screens on each side a runway that they put up the models 'before' photo. I felt bad for one model there though. There must of been a glitch cause her before photo kept randomly popping up....oops...

50mm,signs of spring,prayer and competition....
Ah,life when it gets crazy it all hits bam,bam, bam, right in a row. I wish there was a break in between sometimes.
I'm afraid the rest of this month will be rather quite stressful. I found out my essay was accepted into this beauty school for a competition,meaning I bring my model (my friend Mikaela in this case) and do her hair,makeup and last week we radied her closet to find an outfit,we found one which needs a few small accessories,but we'll get to that later.
I feel like there is so much to do,I need alot of practice too.
I've been 'eyeing' these (below) to go put a little twist to the look.
I wanna buy them so bad,it would be awesome!
A few of my sisters goats are getting quite round (expecting some babies.) I want to roll Emily(below) over. I love seeing the baby goats frolic around in the fresh air,that is when I know its spring. =)
I got myself a 50mm 1.8 lens. So happy! I bought a hood too, sadly I ordered them at night and if you know me I don't think clearly at night and I ordered a 50mm hood,but for the 1.4. Darn it! So its to big. I'm just happy to finally own a 50mm.
I never thought I'ld say that cause he was such a pain. Ah,those love and hate relationships....okay,yeah there wasn't much love going on, at least on his part unless him loving making a person so mad they want to shoot you sometimes counts....
So in at the beginning of April I'm off to New York City. Yikes!
Okay,I've always wanted to go on a missions trip since I knew about such things and part of our youth group is going to New York to a mission where we'll serve meals,clean and help with the services. In the afternoon we're going site seeing, which should be fun,but let say I DO NOT like the city especially big ones. I went to Chicago for a few days once and I couldn't wait to be home.
I'm a born and breed country girl!!
Yeah,this trip should be fun. I would appreciate any prayers cause after we had a little 'caution' group talk I'm a little nervous now.....okay,I'm alot nervous.
So prayers for our safety,be a light to others,oh,and that I'll survive it all without having a panic attack would be great.

We all know about true beauty our inner beauty,but why is it our thoughts are always more concerned about our outward beauty.
Let me tell you I'm not an expert on this subject its something I struggle with constantly. I think alot of girls do, its part of our nature to want to be attractive and desired, but what we don't fully realize is that we are seeing models who starve themselves and are edited by a computer to made to look 'perfect' and desirable. We see that everyday online and in stores, our culture is bombarding us with it and in movies ever notice how the heroine has a pretty much a perfect body.
Are minds are being trained without realizing that that is what all women should look like.
None of us can look like that girl in the magazine or commercial.
For one shes the only her and your the only you. Second they always digitally do something to the photo even after professional makeup artist and hairstylists are done with them, not to mention half of them have personal fitness trainers and starve themselves.
The Hunger Games movie is something alot of people,teenagers especially are into right now and I saw something on pinterest that caught my eye and I'm so happy that girls can have this young lady as a role model,here is why;

I keep waiting for that one role to come along that scares me enough into dieting, and it just can’t happen. I’m invincible. Now I won't lie its true outward beauty is something that catches a guys attention. But for example if there are two girls when with outward beauty and the other inner beauty and guy walks by and he has to spend all day with them. He might be interested in the first girl her stunning apperance caught his eye. He soon found her not as alluring as he first thought,he takes no special notice in the other girl,but as the day continues he takes notice of the other girls inner beauty and she captures his heart with her kindness her true beauty.
Now you know that was just an example,but I love this verse and I think it sums it up perfectly.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Your outward beauty (by world standards) won't last, its going to leave you,but your inner beauty your following of God and fearing the Lord is going to last. You will never Regret spending that extra time with God and working on your inner beauty.
Now before I end this I don't want you to think I'm against being physically fit,watching what you eat and worrying about how you look. Just don't let it consume you and your time cause you'll spend your time comparing,worrying, and starving for something that won't last.

come spring come updo tutorial.....
It has been quite a while since I've done a hair tutorial here and I apologize for that.
I'm really excited to show you all this updo and hear your thoughts cause it has become a new favorite of mine.
I hope you enjoy and as always any questions no problem just comment below.
You'll need:
Bobby pins
a comb
hairspray (optional)
flower clip (optional)
Curling iron (optional)
Step 1 (an optional step)
Curl medium sections of your hair with 1/2 - 1" curling iron then comb through with fingers.
Step 2: Take top of your hair pull back and pin bumping it.
Step 3: Twist your hair on both sides pulling back and pinning in place. Don't forget to leave a tiny section of hair out on both sides in the front to frame your face.
Step 4: Take the top and unpin. Take the end of your hair of that section, wrapping it around your 2 fingers and pinning in place. Be careful when doing all this that you don't loose your bump keep it loose.
Step 5: Take a medium section of hair from one end and wrap around your fingers then pin in place.
Step 6: Repeat step 5 on the other side. Go back and forth working your way toward the middle by repeating the step until all your hair is up.
Step 7: Curl the two strands of hair in the front.
Step 8: Add flower to your new look to finish it off!!!
Now enjoy it!!!!!
