India

I have a interesting fascination with India (Amy Carmichael I wish I could of lived in her time and went to India)! I don't know why,but something in my heart burns/longs to go there!

To go on a missions trip to an orphanage! The beauty of their architecture and of course the Sari's!

The Scenery

The people! I long to wear a Sari

Although it's not a safe place for a young christain girl, God has put a yearning in my heart for India, even if  it's for something small like doing a fundrasier for something in India or dedicating my life as a missionary to India. I have a heart for that country.
Why I have yet to discover?

All Photo credit goes to HERE (except the last photo)!!

Thanks Anna for inspiring this post with your Ireland post!

The Indian people are some of the most beautiful on earth, in my opinion. :)

I totally get you. My family knows many indian families, because my dad's computer company is made up of a bunch, so he's always working with them. In fact I spent the summer living next door and doing almost everything we did with them. They had a one year old who just loved my brother and I. I do love India, and actually own a Sari (One that brought back for me) that's pink, white and gold. Beautiful, really :)
Although it'd be hard to go to where they lived because they said you see trash piled up all over the place, and it smells so horrid. It'd be hard, but I guess any missionary's possion can be hard.

Lovely post, and very inspirational!

It's awesome that you want to go to India or get involved with something that reaches out to India. I also love the story of Amy Carmichael. She's one of my heroes for sure. I'm American Indian and I've been to India several times in my lifetime. The saris are truly beautiful as you said in your post. I love the vibrant colors and always beg to get something when we go. However, elephants aren't as common as they are portrayed to be. Cows and bulls are pretty rampant, even in crowded cities, as they are regarded as holy by the Hindu religion. The cities can be very polluted. And there is great poverty. But the people are wonderful; I absolutely love the hospitality and the kids are the best. Oh, and the Taj Mahal is absolutely beautiful!

If you should ever go to India, I believe you would love it!

Blessings,
~Prism~
