A True Love Story
With Valentines coming up...you might catch yourself doing a bit of daydreaming.
Maybe
you sit daydreaming that some handsome, dashing young knight will come your
way...gracefully swooping down off a strong, white steed. He quickly
approaches, bows and kisses your hand, bestowing upon you gifts of
expensive jewels, smooth chocolate morsels and roses of the richest red.
Doesn't it sound just fabulous? Well, actually...if you spent time
thinking of things like that, then I would think you read wayyy to many
fantasy tales as a child. Anyhoo...
Once
in a while I find myself, or hear another girl complaining and wishing
that there was that special someone to spend Valentines day
with...someone who would write beautiful love letters, who would say how
beautiful you are, no matter how you looked...who would do anything and
everything to protect you. It all sounds so dreamy and romantic!
But,
what if we are one of those unlucky ones who spent only the time
sitting there daydreaming, yet not having our wish come true? Well,
unlucky would be far from the word I would call you...because I know of someone, someone who loves you, loves you so much, in fact, he let himself go through a horrible, painful, gruesome death- just to save you.
He loves you no matter how you look or how intelligent or witty you
are...and when the world lets you down, you can always run back to him
and he will be there with open arms...ready to accept you, no matter the
circumstances. His name is Jesus. He is the Christ, He is the King..and not just a king...the King of kings! Isn't it just amazing?
Christ
love for us is always there, it will never leave, never separate and
never dissolve. God's love for you has been there way before the earth
was born and has held fast to this very day and in eternity to come. So
this Valentines day, instead of moping about the fact that no one is
writing you cheesy love poems or giving you chocolates...open your Bible
and read the greatest love story you could ever imagine...with the purest and truest love there ever is.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
