Sometimes at Valentine’s Day you
might see others and think “I wish I had someone in my life like that to spend
Valentine’s Day with.” Even though one
day I hope to have a “special someone” in my life I am happily content because;
I have always know about my very special someone,
who loves me no matter what, who died for me because that was the only way I
could ever belong to Him and He with me, and on top of that he is preparing a
perfect home for me when I go to be with Him!
When I think about that and all Jesus has done for me I realize how
blessed I am.
Some may say “Yes Jesus has done
that for me, but a guy sends me love notes, chocolates, give me flowers and
gifts, and takes me out on dates.” Well,
Jesus sends you His love notes everyday through the Bible. In Psalm 34:8 it says “Oh taste and see that
the Lord is good…” His goodness and mercy is His “chocolate.” When you see a little flower growing in your
backyard He is sending you flowers. When
you wake up in the morning and every time you breathe it is a gift, plus every
time you see something you like and when you exclaim with delight “Oh look at
that” that is another gift. Finally His
dates, I think sometimes we ignore His dates those are the times when He calls
you away to be with Him alone to learn about Him, to read his love letter, and
to think about His amazing and never ending love. Those are His lovely dates with you and He
finds them priceless.
It is amazing that a perfect God who
controls the universe and everything in it came to take our punishment, death,
and shame He didn’t have to, He could have been perfectly happy without us. But no, He loved us to much too ever see us
perish. It was enough that He did that
for us, yet he gives us the mercies and blessings (like listed above and many,
many more) and most of all the hope of an eternity spent with Him in
paradise. Now to think He wants to be
your Valentine, yes, more than anyone in the world He wants YOU!!! Isn’t that amazing?!
This Valentine’s Day (and everyday)
instead of envying others, spend time with your amazing Valentine; go on a “date”
with Him, read His love letters to you, but most of all realize His gifts and
the love that He has for you then, tell Him how grateful you are for them. I am sure it will be a very special and
unforgettable Valentine’s Day!
