Got it and Ready? Lets go!!!

--------------------------------------------------

1. Stroke your hair 100 times a day with brush

2.Do not wash your hair daily, you'll strip your hair of it's healthy oils and nutrients.

3. Don't rinse out all of you conditioner when washing your hair.

4. Drink lots of water to help keep your hair moisturized.

5.Healthy eating is a step to healthy hair.

6. Exercising/lots of activity is very healthy for your hair as well.

7. Alchol will dry out your hair,so don't use it.(this is true, but not forbidden for straight hair, like it is for curly and wavy hair.)

8. Dying your hair isn't something I suggest doing often maybe 2 years.

9. Don't dye your hair.(worse then using hair products with alcohol.)

10. Love your hair, don't try to change it,(coloring straightening,etc...) help your hair along and let it be as natural as possible. (straightening and curling is okay to do sometimes,I just don't want you straightening your hair all the time cause its curly and you don't like it.)

11. Straightening and curling your hair can damage your hair (heat will do that), so don't do it to often and when you do use heat protection spray,to help minimze possible damage.

12. Avoid putting hair products on your scalp.

13. Soak your hair in bottled water before swimming and wash your hair when done swimming(or at least rinse it)

14. Don't leave a blowdryer in one spot for more then a few seconds.

15. Trim your hair every 6-8 weeks to avoid getting split ends.

16. Shampoo your hair only when its dirty.

17. Don't brush your hair when its wet,or put to much tension on it. Can cause your hair to break wait until your hair is almost totally dry.

18. Shower with warm or cold water.

19. Leave the conditioner in your hair for a few moments before rinsing.

20. Try to use moisturising shampoos and conditioners for healthier and happier hair.

Good thoughts, Blythe! And I really like your new header. :)

The only tip I would very much disagree with is brushing your hair 100 times a day. Brushes and combs are *terrible* for hair. They should't be used at all. Hair picks and wide tooth combs could be used occasionally - its really best to try and untangle hair with your fingers. If a comb MUST be used, a wooden wide-tooth comb is the most natural, safest, and doesn't pull all your hair out. :)

Also, to add to the "tip list" - hair should never been combed upside down. However it may be dried upside down to encourage connection to the canopy (the roots of your hair.) Another way to connect to the canopy and thus regain thickness is to flip your head over, and "shift" or run your fingers through the top of hair and downward. It really works if done correctly! :)

Lastly - I dry my hair with paper towels. A t-shirt also works, but paper towels are more absorbent and gentle. I use the Curly-girl method of hair care, BUT I do use shampoo (organic, volumeizing shampoo with Rosemary. Rosemary is excellent for all hair types!) Reducing water pressure when rinsing hair also helps it from tearing and being weighed down.

Whew, this is a long comment! I'd had my share of hair-care adventures, and am still trying to bring it back to its healthy, thick-beauty again...using excessive conditioner plus leaving it in caused tons of my hair to fall out. I truly don't recommend leaving conditioner in ones hair unless it is super light-weight and you are sure your hair-type can handle the strain.

Micheala- Thanks. It really depends on your hair type and hair brush. Sometimes for certain hair it really helps, but wavy and curly hair its a no no....

I started leaving conditioner in my hair and I so far like it helps my hair a little bit. Your hair is really long too,so maybe that has something to do with it,cause it hasn't done that to my hair..yet...

Great tips,I know for cury/wavy hair your not supposed to use a reg. bathroom towel to dry your hair, but I usually just correctly squeze the water out of my hair and let the rest air dry.

Oh,I'll have to look up that shampoo,so far shampoo does not look good on my hair.

Thank you for sharing Micheala I love hearing others input and experience. :)

What great tips! The one I struggle with is not brushing my hair when it's wet. Because my hair is so thick it takes hours to dry naturally so putting it up while it's wet (in the Summertime) is much easier than not brushing it and waiting for it to dry. But I do like the pretty waves my hair has after it air dries. I don't have a very good relationship with my hair blow dryer either, it takes forever and my hair usually ends up so frizzy and fly-away afterward! I'll have to look into heat protecting product for when I use my blow dryer and curling iron, I just don't like putting a lot of products in my hair. Thanks for the tips!

Thank you so much for putting all this on here! It will definitely help me because my hair has been feeling dry and clumpy lately and a lot of weight, and I thought that it was because I don't trim it often, but really it was because I don't brush it enough and brush too hard on tangles when I am done swimming. And I also love HOT showers, so that may be the problem too.
Thanks for your inspiration!
