blessings at OSR

 

I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Ohio Homeschool Rendezvous hosted by Michaela and Anna F. they may sounds familiar to some of you fellow bloggers.
I wasn't totally sure what to expect I've seen photos of the event on the both girls blogs and I really felt like it would be wonderful to connect with a group of like minded Christians. I kinda felt the awkwardness of growing up into a different realm of life; aka adulthood.
I didn't take a whole lot of photo........I actually took very little which for me was something odd, but I really just wanted to enjoy my time,embrace it all without lunging around a camera. And seriously this was a 'homeschool' event, so there was a crazy amount of photographers taking photos 24/7,so if/when I get a hold of them they may just surface onto this blog. ;)

Other then the "ball" which was oh, so fun an pretty much the 'big' event for the weekend I really enjoyed the worship and devotions. I felt so encouraged to come to a group without knowing anyone to just sit and talk about God, reading scripture and just worshiping Him together. One of my personal highlights.

       Okay, so this rock was pretty much the purpose of these photos cause we agreed it was a pretty neat rock, worthy of us taking a photo on it! :) So thankful for self timers, stumps, knives and wallets (the knife and wallet served as an assistant tripods.)for taking group photos.

                      The whole OSR group went on a beautiful hike which I thoroughly enjoyed!
                                       I loved the mossy rocks and steep hills with tree roots.
Something about a walk in the woods fills you with peace and awe in Gods creation making you thankful the little things you take for granted.

I was pleasantly surprised to meet Liza aka Jo March from the blog Scraps from my Workbasket!

The whole OSR group was in a big circle and playing get to know you games and I saw her across on the other side of the circle and I just sat there thinking, "Man, that girl looks sooo familiar!" She eventually ended up sitting next to me and said, "Your Blythe right?".... "We're blogging friends."

Me of course being me, my brain still hadn't totally registered who she was, so she had to tell me her name and blog and THEN it clicked!

So very happy you said something and I got to meet you.

I enjoyed playing the violin with you as well. ;)

I was so honored to meet this awesome girl!

After a crazy game the night before in which we all had to go by food names the next morning all I knew her as was 'Skittles', so I had to ask for her 'real' name.

We found we had a strange similarity in both of us having brothers named Aaron and Ethan.

I enjoyed dancing with you, playing volleyball, talking, hiking, and just really hanging out with you.  I'm really sad this girl doesn't live closer to my house for us to meet up sometime, but Lord willing I will see her again soon. ;)

 

 

 

 

life of me......

Wow, I feel like its been ages since I've posted here....Oh,wait! It has been ages. I sincerely apologize I thought I would be blogging more often, but God had different plans this summer.
I found a laptop I thought I would love, but it died after one day of ownership, so back to the store it went! Life has been an exciting stressful whirlwind!


                                        First I helped shoot my first wedding this summer!

I was a third shooter which was nice cause I just took whatever I pleased without having the pressure to make sure I got certain things.

 

 

 

I went to visit my grandparents for their 50th wedding anniversary party!

Which also consisted of going to the Memphis Zoo!

                           Aaron and I. He just turned 16,I can't believe my little brothers growing up.

 

I'm now going to be busy with two camping trips the OSR and our youth camping trip the following weekend!

So as soon as that's all over I think I can breath... not that I've been having fun, but I have been struggling with some things and just need a break to spend time with God!

 

I plan on returning to the blogging world soon and continue my blogging journey.

So hang in there my dear adventures I shall return!

"So long insecurity" teen edition//book review

                       I was asked to review a book for Tyndale House and the book I chose was...
                                    "So long, insecurity."
                                                                 by Beth Moore

                                                                    The Layout:
I was a little skeptical when I got it cause it felt like a book, but looked like a magazine with its whole layout. It eventually grew on my and I ended up liking the layout and I think a lot of girls would like it as well especially ones that aren't into a whole lot of reading.

                                                                    The Content:
I loved this book and think it would fit the age range of 12-18. It kind of depends on the maturity of the girl. Some girls deal with it acceptance and worried about their appearance, self image at a younger age. Now some 18 year old may need a more mature book and think this one is to kiddish, but it hit on some good topics and was interesting.

                                                  Some of my favorite chapter were;
                                                                      Fashion
                                                               Boys, Boys, Boys
                                                             Gifts and Talents

I think every girl should have this book on their shelf. It covers all the topics that girls go through and have a tough time with. I found it encouraging an uplifting to read.
This book also has test and each chapter starts with a question then it continues to answer it.

                                                      Overall I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

Note: for very conservative christians the modesty guidelines are along the lines of shorts are okay as long as they aren't to tight (same for pants.) or so short that it could be your undergarment. You get the idea. I still recommend it for young girls.
