lovin' this time of year........

                                   Oops....I think my last post was along the same lines as well.......
                              But this time I'll give you all a music video instead of photos and ramblings.



 Okay,so I love celtic music,and I was excited to find out a new cd by Keith and Kristyn Getty that was a Celtic Christmas music cd (Kristyn come from Ireland). I generally don't listen to them,but I heard one of the songs on the radio and I really liked it. I think this is the first 'celtic' christmas type of song I've heard.

winter wonder...

Ah,winter...One of my favorite times of the year.

       I love being in a cozy house as it snows outside wrapping some presents up for friends & family.

I even got an yearly Christmas present from my dear friend Desiree today...

(not to mention one last week from another friend [I went to see her in a play,oh,so cool.])

Desiree's gift came on todays chilly afternoon.

(which just as a little note for you Desi,I sent yours today actually.)

Her gift happen to contain 'Mint Melody Herb tea' and a mug.

Perfect timing Desi. ;)

Cause I was just thinking about having some tea.

                        Oh,and the candy cane, my little brother was very excited about that since,
                                             I plan to share it with him over a movie tonight. =)

            I loved sipping the tea,reflecting, and watching the snowflakes fall from the sky oh,so delicately.

Oh,and the cute hair accessory she made me. (check out her etsy shop,for other nifty things she makes.)

                                          And the christmas tree ornament I got from her.
  My little brother wanted to know if it was a real cookie,poor lil' guy was bummed that it wasn't.

Since I was the clicky mood,I took this photo besides the gift photoshoot I did (above)....

                                  I couldn't resist taking a photo of my sisters dog while it was sleeping.

I want to treasure it,so when she wakes up and starts being her spoiled, yappy-self,

 I can reflect and remember how sweet she was when she slept. ;)

lol...aka....lots of laughter....

But seriously, I love how this photo turned out.

Oh and as a side note for those of you who use picnik as your photo editing tool,I just realized they now have their 'winterized' effect on. HORRAY ,yeah that also contributed to my day. :)

Christmas Card tutorial......................

                     Christmas is on its way and everyone is sending out cards of their Chrsitmas greetings.
I love making my cards for those friends that I send gifts to,and I thought I'ld do a lil' tutorial for you all.

Step 1. Choose your colored paper you'll be using for the tree and some cardstock paper for the card.

Also a pen or whatever you desire to write with,glue and a scissors.

Step 2.Using your cardstock paper, cut the desired size for your card then fold it in half.

(mine was about 4 x 2 1/2 before I folded it.)

 

           Step 3. Cut out several strips of your colored paper the next always slightly shorter then the first.(as shown above.) also a small,but long strip of paper from your cardstock.

                           Step 4. Glue your strips of colored paper in order on to the cardstock strip of paper.

   Step 5. Once you've glued all your strips on and let them dry,cut at an angle from the end of the longest strip of paper up to the top do the same on the other side,making a triangle. As shown above.Note: Make sure your cardstock strip behind your now Christmas tree is shaped into a point like the last strip of colored paper at the top of your tree.  

 Step 6. Glue you finished tree onto the front of your card.Take your pen and color a stump for your tree as well.  

  Step 7. Wish a Merry Christmas or whatever you desire inside the card and your finished. :) Enjoy! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  Now that you know how to do this,you could mess around a bit and even use fabric,use fun patterns(polka dots,stripes,etc...) and colors to match your friends personalities! =)
